Cool Girl Casual

Would you believe me if I said this denim jacket is the first one I've ever owned? Because it is and I'm not sure why it took me so long to buy one. This has to be one of my favorite ways to wear my summer dresses as the season starts to change. The denim jacket and cute dress combo is the easiest girly casual outfit to pull off.  Paired with some booties, it's one of those outfits that can have you out the door in five minutes...which is great for me because I'm always running late lol

Feeling Like Fall

dress: Asos (same) boots: Target

I've been wanting to get my hands on a bell sleeve piece for some time now and I was the happiest when this floral dress showed up in my mail box. The sleeves are so fun, the print is the prettiest, and the color is perfect for fall. I love summer but seriously I can't wait for some fall weather!! Out here it is just now starting to feel cool and crisp in the mornings but the afternoons are still a bit warm. I wore this out last week and paired it with my knee high boots that I bought last year. I didn't care if it didn't feel like fall outside, I felt like dressing like it. On this particular night me and Chris went with his family to see Dwight Yoakam. Chris got me into his music when we first met and I've always enjoyed his songs but I never thought I would actually see him in concert. I've been listening to Dwight Yoakam for 14 years now and the wait to see him live didn't disappoint. His music is so fun to sing, dance, and drink to. I had margaritas all night long and sang my heart out.

I also linked just a few other favorite bell sleeve dresses.

Destin

About a month ago, my family took a road trip to Destin, Florida. I've always been a beach person and I hadn't ever seen green or blue water so I was more than excited. The drive up there was crazy just because it rained so bad when we left from Texas at 3 in the morning, but getting there and seeing the beautiful beach was worth it. We quickly checked into our room and put on our bathing suits. This first photo was from that afternoon. The sky was nice and clear and the sun was out and the water was perfect. I only had a few photos on my phone because about 95 percent of the time I was in the water. I had the most fun jumping waves, diving under waves, riding floats over the waves, and just laughing and smiling all day with Chris and my family.

While out in Destin,  I had a fun drink at every lunch and dinner...and after dinner, but that's how you do it when you are on vacation right?  One of the nights we were there, we went to Coyote Ugly and I danced on the bar! 3 times! If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably saw my story from that night. Good times :) On our last night there everyone had dinner by the beach and had some really good seafood. Regardless of how every day was spent, every night my brother, Chris, and I walked down to the beach. The last time I stayed the night by the beach was on an anniversary trip with Chris. I remember back then I wanted to have wine on the balcony and when we did, the beach was so dark and loud it kind of freaked me out. That was about 4 years ago. On this trip I really wanted to walk down to the beach just to get over the fear. So every night a little past midnight we would walk down to the beach. It was so peaceful this time around and we went every night after that and just talked and listened to the waves.

This trip was actually planned about a month and a half before we went. Me and Chris had no plans of going to Destin this year but I'm so glad that we did. A week away from work spent by the beach needs to be a summer tradition.
