There's just something about rainbows that radiates fun and happiness and I've been wearing this top so much lately. It's becoming my weekend staple when I want to feel all those summer vibes. Since my sis got me this for my birthday, I've be wearing it to the beach, pairing it with jeans, and using it as a cute cover up at the pool. Also with jeans, I've just been cutting them at the hem and letting them fray out when I wash them. Finding a good length is so annoying and going with the rainbow theme, I'm kinda just over it. lol.
Getting to the Basics
I've always been the type that loves a good statement piece but lately I've really been understanding the need for a few good basics in your closet. One of the things that I've been trying to stick to as far as my shopping habits goes is to switch between buying a statement piece and then a basic piece. Whether it is a good pair of denim or simple black heels that I purchase my basic wardrobe is slowly growing and has made getting dressed just a bit easier. I love that with a few basic pieces you can quickly wear an outfit that is effortless and looks put together...which for someone who tends to run late is a lifesaver.
What kind of wardrobe do you have? Statement, basic, or a little bit of both? I'd love to know.

Bringing Back the Memories
This weekend my brother and I met up to grab some milkshakes and I spotted this wall. I had forgotten all about it but once I saw it, I was like you need to take some photos of me. I want to say about 6 years ago I had my niece who was like 7 at the time take some outfit photos of me for my previous blog. It's actually kinda funny because I would pay her with a trip to Starbucks lol Anyhow I liked this wall with the random number five carved into it and one of the pics she took ended up on Glamour's website. Glamour was and still is my favorite magazine so back then it was a pretty big deal for me.
The weather lately has been crazy...one minute its warm and the next its cool. I ended up throwing my two toned denim and a sequin tee but because I knew the weather would drop, I brought along my shaggy sweater. I've alway been a fan of pattern mixing but playing around with textures is so much fun too. Both can make an outfit just that more interesting and the sequins and loop holes of this sweater didn't let me down.
