A Sweet Idea // Chocolate Dipped Potato Chips

Not too long ago, someone mentioned chocolate dipped potato chips and I haven't been able to get them out of my head. I kept telling Chris that I really wanted to try making them and finally got around to doing it this weekend. Mmm..mmm.mmm....they were soooooo good. I'm usually all about sweets but something about this salty sweet combination had me at hello. Chris didn't try them but more for me! I guess the thought of potato chips and chocolate doesn't sound like the best combination to some people...those crazies j/k lol To be honest, it actually tastes like a chocolate dipped pretzel...yum!

 1. Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave for a minute. 30 seconds through take out and stir with a spoon, then place back in for the remaining 30 seconds, then stir again.

2. Once the chocolate is melted, dip potato chips into the melted chocolate and place on a tray with parchment paper.

3. Add sprinkles!!!

4. Place in the freezer for about 3 minutes or just long enough to harden the chocolate.

Enjoy!!!!

DIY // Rainbow Cake

This is really quite simple to do...just start with a nicely frosted cake and place the candy buttons across the cake from pink to blue...something fast and easy that turns out looking amazing. Oh and if you want to be extra cute about it, try using the candy buttons to write out a fun word. Love and XOXO are my picks for the upcoming holidays.

A Sweet Idea // Chocolate Kiss Thumbprint Cookies

Over  the weekend my cousin hosted her annual christmas cookie exchange party. This is always fun for me because I try to make a cookie that I haven't made before, so instead of going with my usual chocolate chip, I tried a thumbprint cookie. I followed this recipe and it worked out great. I love that you can use a variety of sprinkles to make them look festive...oh and not to mention that they were delicious! I had to keep myself from eating them all on my own.
 1. After you make the dough, roll into a ball and roll into sprinkles.
2. Place on parchment paper and make a thumbprint into the cookie.
3. Bake in the oven at 375 for about 7 minutes.
4. After they come out of the oven, immediately place a chocolate kiss in them.
I thought it helped to unwrap the kisses just before getting the cookies out of the oven.
5. Transfer cookies to a wire rack or plate and let them cool off.
I found that with them just sitting out to cool off, the kisses were still really warm and would easily melt even after a good 30 minutes. Since I was baking these before the exchange, it worked out better for me to place them in the freezer for about three minutes so that I could stack and take them with me
yum! Enjoy! Do you have a favorite cookie you always bake for Christmas?
