To the Next Level

Black and brown have always been one of my favorite color combos...even if I've heard people say that they don't go together. I wore this to a lunch date with my sisters and mom the other day. I got this skirt as a gift last year for Christmas. Every time I wear it, I feel a bit glamourous because of the beautiful embellishment. And usually I'm all about the sparklier the better, but I love the matte finish on these sequins...you know, not all out there in your face. Paired with a black tee it's just a simple casual outfit but with details that take it up a notch.

Pink & Black

Dress: Nasty Gal, Skirt: Forever 21, Boots: H&M
I was super excited to get this dress in the mail before we headed off on our trip. There was actually some kind of mixup at the post office and I ended up getting it in the day before we left! This dress really is pretty...I love the pink and black contrast and the stripe sheer sleeves. The only thing bad about it, is that it is soooooo short...lucky for me I have a ton of black skirts to wear this with. Problem solved. Oh and I picked up these boots while on our vacation. I had been looking for a new pair of black boots for the longest and I'm so glad I found these. They are becoming a rotating favorite.

In the Nude

Dress: Gifted, Heels: Kimichi Blue, Belt: Target, Necklace: Diament Designs
Other than all black from head to toe, I think this is the first monochromatic look I've ever tried to pull off. I like it. I wore this yesterday to celebrate Mother's day and really wanted to feel dressed up to hang out with my mom. I kept teasing Chris asking him if I was getting anything for mother's day (even though I'm not a real mom) from our cat Scar. Hey I lost sleep when he was a baby and had to bottle feed him every so many hours..that counts for something right? But for real, I hope every one enjoyed spending time with your mothers and family. I had a relaxing weekend as expected but now that it's Monday, my birthday week officially starts. I have to thank Chris for getting me into birthday weeks...everything my way all week, I'm going to be a happy girl.
Oh and that star tattoo, my niece's wanted to put one on me at breakfast so I just went along with it.
I may not be a mom yet, but I'm a good aunt.
Happy Monday!
